Exterior
Bronze full figure statue of the Welsh novelist Daniel Owen (1836-1895); in an informal stance wearing a frock coat and holding a book. Moulded limestone and sandstone pedestal set upon a modern, stepped, brick plinth.
Signed W G John (Sir William Goscombe John (1860-1952)), it was the sculptor's first public statue.
Reason for designation
Special architectural and historic interest as a late C19 memorial and statue by a noted sculptor; of an author of importance in Wales.
