To rear of pavement and backing onto ground opposite the Court House.
History
K6 type square, red kiosk of cast iron construction to the standard design of Giles Gilbert Scott, architect of London. Design introduced by GPO in 1936, this example dating from after 1952. Embossed foundry plate: "Carron Foundry, Stirlingshire".
Exterior
Domed roof with 4 lunettes containing Queen Elizabeth II crowns over red lettered opals and ventilation slits. Raised surrounds to door and sides with marginal glazing bars to horizontal panels. Blank rear, moulded plinth.
Reason for designation
Included for group value with the other listed buildings of Maryport Street, in particular the Court House opposite. Situated within Usk Conservation Area.
