Cadw's description

Approximately 400m SE of the parish church, set back from the main road through the village leading to Moel-y-crio.

The shop is in late C19 style but adapted from an earlier cottage shown on the 1839 Tithe map and the 1870 Ordnance Survey.

A 2-storey 3-window shop and house with early C20 pebble-dashed walls enriched by raised white-painted bands and architraves, with a slate roof and end stacks. The shop on the L side has a half-glazed door flanked by 3-light window L and 4-light R, all the openings framed by pilasters with fascia brackets. Above are two 4-pane sash windows beneath the eaves. The house on the R side has a lean-to half-glazed porch L with half-lit panel door, a 4-pane sash window R and similar window above.

The gable end of the shop has 4-pane windows L of the stack, and an outshut behind. The house has an L-shaped rear wing with brick stacks, 2-light windows and boarded door facing the rear.

Not inspected.

Listed as a rare well-preserved late C19 shop front and cottage.
