Cadw's description
Location
Situated in Llanarth churchyard S of nave.
History
Railed enclosure around the large and plain double chest tomb of Elizabeth Jones, of Clytha House (d 1787) in whose memory her husband William built the Clytha Castle folly. Further inscription to William Jones (d 1805). Presumably late C18 made for Elizabeth Jones, possibly made after William Jones' death in 1805.
Exterior
Large chest tomb in railed square enclosure. Spearhead iron railings with urn stanchions at angles and centre of each side. Scrolled supporting bars within. The chest tomb is large and plain with coved edge to capstone. Top inscriptions to Elizabeth and William Jones.
Reason for designation
Included for fine iron railings and for historical reasons, associated with the Clytha Castle folly.
