Cadw's description
Location
In Coed Pont Felin, the north part of Middleton Hall Park, 500m south-east of Pont Felin-gât, on the Afon Gwynon.
History
A water feature probably forming part of the series attributed to James Grier c1805. There was a bridge over, shown on the 1905 map, but it does not survive. The pool above this feature is shown on the 1824 estate plan, but has not been restored.
Exterior
A small waterfall contained between rubble masonry banks, the stream flowing over a double weir. The fall is about 2m. The main weir has been restored in concrete with stones set in flush. The structure is complex with a circular aperture in the weir face. The tail of the structure is a water channel between walls 2m high, picturesquely curved. There is a large socket in the north side wall face.
Reason for designation
Listed as an interesting feature of Regency landscaping design.
