Cadw's description

On E side of farm yard opposite the farm house, prominently sited on the hillside E of Bwlch.

Probably C18 and showing the development of farm buildings in that period. Facing the farm yard and the house, their grouping shows the traditional farm layout before the C19

Continuous range on a steep slope consisting of a barn at the upper end and a cow house below under a separate, lower roof. Random rubble sandstone with slate roofs. The barn has a sliding wooden door to cart passage in centre, with a vent slit to R. To L, at a lower level, are 2 stable doors to basement. In the R gable end is a loft opening. To the rear are full-height double doors to passage, flanked by 2 vent strips to L and 1 to R.

The cow house has a central doorway beneath a replaced lintel. To R are 2 doorways under segmental heads. To L are a pair of similar doorways with window further L. Above is a central loft doorway beneath the wall plate with a boarded door. Later lean-to to L gable end below stepped vent strips. Later lean-tos behind.

The barn has a flagged cart passage. Both barn and cow house have roofs with tie- and collar-beam trusses.

A well-preserved range of historic farm buildings forming a strong visual group with the farm house in a prominent location
