Location
Located on the N (rear) side of a courtyard surrounded by service buildings to Cefn Bryntalch Hall, which lies to the S.
History
Built by G.F. Bodley in 1869 as part of Cefn Bryntalch Hall, for Richard Edward Jones.
Exterior
Symmetrical 3-bay barn range under a plain tiled roof. Brick lower storey, with timber framed upper storey. A wide central opening has been infilled with brickwork and a smaller opening inserted under a concrete lintel. This is flanked by two 3-light windows with leaded lights. To the right is a similar window, with a plain planked door to the left. The timber framing to the outer bays consists of two rows of square panels. Under the eaves and immediately above the door and window openings are 4 ventilation strips containing open quatrefoils. The rear elevation has a wide, tile-hung gable at its centre..
Reason for designation
Listed grade II as part of a picturesque group of service buildings designed by G.F. Bodley which contribute to the architectural unity of Cefn Bryntalch Hall.
