Cadw's description

Located in the road verge, almost opposite the driveway to Llanoddian Hall.

Erected by a Montgomeryshire Turnpike Trust in the late C18 on the turnpike road from Llanfair Caereinion to Machynlleth.

A painted slab of local slate with a chamfered top, cut with lettering reading: MACHYNLLETH / 20MILES / CANOFFICE 6 / LLANFAIR 1 / POOL 9.

Included as one of the few surviving milestones on thie route, and a comparatively well preserved and informative example.
