Cadw's description

Location: Set into grass verge on S side of A458 opposite the house known as Dolerfyl.

Probably dating from the early C19, a flat, upright slab of shale, previously limewashed, with deeply chamfered corners and a flat top. Standing c600mm high and 460mm wide. A carved inscription written on the front face reads:
Machynlleth
24 Miles
Canoffice 1
Llanfair 6
Pool 14

Listed as a good and well preserved example of an early C19 milestone in good condition with historical value, providing evidence for turnpiking.
