Exterior

Location: House located in central position at a slight angle to the main road, in front of the Church.

History: c1830-40. Marked on Tithe Map as ‘house in 3 dwellings’ but now converted to one house.

Exterior: Two storeys. Western and central houses probably of 3 bays originally, with a third very small house at right angles at the eastern end, perhaps once a service wing. Brickwork, white painted. W gable: shadow of gable of a lower range in red brickwork; tile hung above. East range in brickwork with a tin roof. Rear elevation, rubble masonry. Asbestos slate roof, 3 chimney stacks of blue brick.
Western and central houses: Each a 2-unit plan with central doorway, chimney to W end. Each has 2 upper storey windows beneath the eaves; tripartite, cast iron, with 24 panes and a central opening light. On the ground floor, 2 similar wooden windows flank the doorway of the central house, but the former western house has 2 modern casement windows, each with 16 panes. The ground floor windows have flat arches with gauged brick heads. The central house has a modern, 4 panelled, half lit door, with an overlight. The western house has a substantial added porch with a similar door.
Eastern house: (A butt joint is visible where the eastern house joins the other 2 suggesting that it is a later addition). It is at right angles to the main range with the doorway at the E end. Wooden casement windows under arched heads and door, with small casement windows with 8 panes each at the rear.

Included as the house retains the character of a mid C19 terrace and forms part of a group at the centre of the village.
