Situated on E side of road just N of entry to Gwarallt, some 1.5 km N of Trefilan.
History
Milestone on Lampeter to Aberystwyth road, dated 1859. As the milestones are generally thought to be early C19, this date may be added.
Exterior
Whitewashed stone with curved head, inscribed ABERYSTWYTH 16, LAMPETER 8, capital letters, the letters of "Aberystwyth" following curve of head. Below, very roughly inscribed is `YN yFLWIDDIN 1859'.
Reason for designation
Listed for special interest as a relic of transport history in the area, unusual for the inscribed date.
