Location
To N of minor road to Rhydoldog, approx 1km from its junction with Elan Valley Road.
History
Down-slope sited house probably C17, attached barn, animal shed C18.
Exterior
House two storeys, rendered, slate roof. To L, very large square stone chimney with oversailing top course, to R, rectangular stone chimney. Two windows to each floor (modern glazing). Attached barn timber-framed with weatherboarding, slate roof with eaves at lower level than house. To R, brick fronted entrance to house with door and window. Gabled dormer loading door to barn; three doorways, and higher loading door to L. Ground slopes to L, and L end is 2 storey with animal accommodation at lower level; gable apex weatherboarded, stone lower level with doorway. Interior of barn lofted with heavily built framing. At least one truss has curved principal rafters.
Reason for designation
Good example of vernacular farmhouse.
