Cadw's description

Situated adjoining public park at E end of street.

Circa l800 house in stucco with slate roof. End wall chimneys removed. Three-storey two-window front with cambered-headed tripartite 4-8-4-pane sashes to ground and first floors, set in vertical panels reaching up to sill of upper 4-pane sashes, from plinth below ground floor sills.

East side entry with door and 12-pane sash each floor set to right. Door has unusual octagonal panels and is under corniced columned porch, of which the rear responds are original, the rest replaced in imitation.

One of the early houses of the new town, built cl797-l8l0. The windows are probably replacements, as horned sashes are used, but a very similar design for a house with side entry and cambered-headed windows is marked on l799 lease to Captain Jacob James RN, though here the vertical panels embrace the topmost windows under a cambered arch. The house had very extensive gardens and a summerhouse, shown in old photographs, now public gardens.
