Cadw's description
Location
Situated at W end of terrace row (comprising Nos 23 to 35) opposite Bethel Chapel.
Exterior
Mid C19. Two houses in rubble stone, each of two storeys and three windows.
No 33: slate roof and stone end stacks, three 4-pane sashes above, not centred over ground floor which has two canted 2-4-2-pane bay windows; front door with narrow overlight and painted brick head and modern door with overlight.
No 35: imitation slate roof with higher ridge and brick end stacks. Unusual and attractive front elevation of coursed grey-green sandstone with purple Caerbwdy stone plinth, quoins and rusticated window heads. Four-pane sashes with slate sills and centre door, four-panel with arched heads to panels and traceried overlight. Rubble stone W end wall and outshut rear.
Front garden: enclosed by rubble stone wall with ridges coping and centre iron gate between ashlar purple piers.
Reason for designation
A terrace of five houses is marked on Tithe Map of 1840 opposite Bethel Chapel, but these two are probably of later date.
