Cadw's description
Location
Situated on the street line, the ground floor below the level of the road, between Nos 11 and 15.
History
Earlier C19 attached house, remodelled in later C19. The large end chimney suggests the earlier origin, the broad gable to left and fenestration look of the later C19. Building shown on this site on 1844 tithe map.
Exterior
Attached house, painted roughcast cladding, with slate gabled roof, with red tile cresting and substantial brick stack at right end. Left bay of facade has broad gable with fretted bargeboards and finial. Two-storey, 3-window range, the gabled left side broader with tripartite 4-4-4-pane window each floor. Plain 4-pane sash window to centre and to right closely under eaves. Ground floor has central doorway, small inserted casement window immediately to right and 2-light, 4-4-pane top-hinged window in right bay, matching those to left gable. Doorway with square-headed architrave and C20 door. Rear elevation has sash windows with glazing bars and brick heads.
Door altered since previous listing.
Reason for designation
Included for group value with No 11, and as a later C19 remodelling of an earlier house, with attractive fretted bargeboards.
