Location
Situated near the water's edge in the harbour, reached by path to N of the Fire Station; to rear of Nos 1 and 2 harbour Crescent.
History
Shown on 1809 map; one of 13 limekilns that surrounded the harbour in C19.
Exterior
Built against the sea wall embankment; square rubble structure with voussoir arched splayed openings to 3 sides, concealed by lean-to on SE side. Top covered over and infilled.
Reason for designation
Included as a special example of a limekiln in a townscape location. Group value.
