Toren der Ned. herv. kerk. Tegen het kerkgebouw (apart monumentnummer 9008) staat een zware westtoren uit het begin van de 16e eeuw. De van forse haakse steunberen voorziene toren telt drie geledingen en een spits. De toren is opgetrokken van baksteen en versierd met nissen en pinakels op de steunberen en met Gobertanger banden en hoekblokken op het torenlichaam. Het ingangsportaal met gedrukte boog is omlijst met Namense steen. De toren werd waarschijnlijk kort na 1513 gebouwd in de trant van de Kempische gotiek. In 1891 brandde de klokkeverdieping af. Deze werd in neogotische vorm herbouwd. Tussen 1960 en 1965 werd de toren gerestaureerd, waarbij onder andere de bekroning uit 1891 vervangen werd door een opzetstuk met pyramidale spits naar oude afbeeldingen. Description
Tower of the Dutch Reformed Church. Against the church building (separate monument number 9008) stands a heavy west tower from the early 16th century. The tower, provided with sturdy corner buttresses, comprises three storeys and a spire. The tower is built of brick and decorated with niches and pinnacles on the buttresses and with Gobertange bands and corner blocks on the tower body. The entrance portal with depressed arch is framed with Namur stone. The tower was probably built shortly after 1513 in the style of Campine Gothic. In 1891 the bell chamber burned. This was rebuilt in Neo-Gothic form. Between 1960 and 1965 the tower was restored, among other things the 1891 crown was replaced by a superstructure with pyramidal spire based on old images.
