HISTORISCHE TUIN- EN PARKAANLEG. Bij het Jachthuis kwam tussen 1871-1875 een bescheiden parkaanleg in landschapsstijl tot stand. Ter plaatse lag al een kreek of eendenput die in 1823 al 'vijver' genoemd werd. Na de bouw van het Jachthuis werd de kreek met een slinger in noordelijke richting verlengd. Hierdoor kwam het Jachthuis als het ware op een landtong te liggen en lijkt het vanaf de weg door een volledige gracht omgeven te zijn. Aan de oostzijde werd in 1873 de vijver via een verbindingssloot aangesloten op het bestaande slotenstelsel. Een kleine slinger aan de westkant werd gedempt. Vanaf de Jachthuisstraat loopt de met klinkers bestrate oprijlaan met een bocht naar het ovaalvormige gazon en bloemenborder bij de ingang van het huis. Te weerszijden van de oprijlaan ligt het parkbos (op de kadastrale minuut van 1823 aangeduid als 'bosch'), dat door gebogen schelpenpaden wordt doorsneden. Hierin kastanjes, lindes, rode en groene beuk en acacia's. In het parkbos ligt de vroegere bleek. Als tegenhanger van het dichte parkbos liggen aan de oost- en noordzijde boomweides die respectievelijk met fruitbomen en loofhout zijn beplant. In de noordelijke boomweide, waaromheen langs de beek een wandeling voert, bevindt zich een langgerekte waterpartij: een oude moerput. Vanaf de wandeling een fraai gezicht op de oude kasteelberg. Door de afwisseling van gesloten (parkbos) en open gedeeltes (boomweiden) rond het huis en de vijver is een zeer schilderachtig beeld ontstaan dat kenmerkend is voor de romantische landschapsstijl in de 19de eeuw.

HISTORIC GARDEN AND PARK LAYOUT. At the Hunting Lodge a modest landscape-style park layout was created between 1871-1875. There was already a creek or duck pond on the site which in 1823 was already called 'pond'. After the construction of the Hunting Lodge the creek was extended in a sinuous line in a northerly direction. This resulted in the Hunting Lodge as it were lying on a headland and appearing from the road to be surrounded by a complete moat. On the east side in 1873 the pond was connected via a connecting channel to the existing system of canals. A small meander on the west side was filled in. From Jachthuisstraat a clinker-paved drive curves towards the oval lawn and flower border at the entrance to the house. On either side of the drive lies the park wood (indicated on the cadastral plan of 1823 as 'bosch'), which is traversed by curved shell-lined paths. Containing chestnuts, lindens, red and green beech and acacias. In the park wood lies the former bleach field. As a counterpart to the dense park wood lie on the east and north sides tree meadows which are respectively planted with fruit trees and deciduous wood. In the northern tree meadow, around which a walk runs along the stream, is a long water feature: an old moat pit. From the walk a fine view of the old castle mound. Through the alternation of enclosed (park wood) and open areas (tree meadows) around the house and pond a very picturesque image has emerged that is characteristic of the romantic landscape style in the 19th century.
