TUIN- EN PARKAANLEG rondom weverij De Ploeg en behorend tot dat complex, ontworpen door Mien Ruys. De westelijke begrenzing van de beschermde aanleg loopt langs oostzijde van de Riethovensedijk, aan de noordzijde loopt de begrenzing door een gedeelte van het bosperceel, aan de oostzijde langs de lijn vanaf de oostelijke kant van de bestrating langs de aanbouw aan de oostgevel naar het zuiden, ter hoogte van het dwarspad verder naar het oosten tot de grens van het kadastrale perceel, in het zuiden achter langs de tuinen en de langs de noordzijde van de Bucht, zoals aangegeven op het bij het aanwijzingsbesluit behorende kaartje. Het tuinontwerp is zeer architectonisch opgebouwd uit bij het gebouw aansluitende rechthoekige en vierkante plantvlakken met afgeschuinde hoeken, die van daaraf geleidelijk oplopen van klein naar groot. Aan de westzijde van het gebouw, de kopse kant met de karakteristieke gekantelde gevels, werden de plantvakken ingevuld met een asymmetrisch patroon van vierkanten, rechthoeken en driehoeken van strak gesnoeide groenblijvende heesters. Aan de zuidzijde, ten oosten van de ingang, zijn twee lange borders met heesters en vaste planten aangelegd, parallel aan de voorgevel en haaks daarop. Langs de lange border loopt een lage heg en haaks daarop weer een heg in het gazon als begrenzing van het kleinste vierkant. Vlakverdeling en lijnvoering zijn hier zeer verwant aan het idioom van De Stijl. Aan de zijde van de oprijlaan bevindt zich daar een rechthoekige vijver, die ook als blusvijver functioneert. Twee middelgrote, bijna vierkante gazons links en rechts van de oprijlaan naar de ingang vormen de intermediair tussen de kleinschalige vlakverdeling vlak bij het gebouw en de grotere gazons aan de zuidzijde van de dwarslaan, die beplant zijn met verspreide boomgroepen en waar enkele aaneengesloten bospercelen bewaard zijn gebleven. Uitzondering op de rechtlijnige opzet is hier het licht gebogen pad dat naar de vroegere fietsenstalling loopt. Duidelijk is te zien hoe Ruys in het zuidelijk deel heeft geworsteld met de 'spaghettistijl' zoals de landschapsstijl door destijds moderne tuinarchitecten ook wel werd genoemd. Aan de noordkant heeft Ruys een strook bos gespaard, opdat het strakke, lichtgekleurde fabrieksgebouw zich aftekent tegen de ruige, donkere boompartijen. Hier had ze, kennelijk als concessie aan de opdrachtgever, een stukje Engelse landschapsstijl gepland.

GARDEN AND PARK LAYOUT around weaving mill De Ploeg and belonging to that complex, designed by Mien Ruys. The western boundary of the protected layout runs along the east side of the Riethovensedijk, on the north side the boundary runs through a portion of the wooded parcel, on the east side along the line from the eastern edge of the paving along the extension on the east facade to the south, at the height of the transverse path further to the east to the boundary of the cadastral parcel, in the south behind along the gardens and along the north side of the Bucht, as indicated on the map attached to the designation decision. The garden design is very architecturally structured from rectangular and square planting beds adjoining the building with bevelled corners, which gradually rise from there from small to large. On the west side of the building, the gable end with the characteristic chamfered facades, the planting beds were filled with an asymmetrical pattern of squares, rectangles and triangles of strictly trimmed evergreen shrubs. On the south side, east of the entrance, two long borders with shrubs and herbaceous plants are laid out, parallel to the front facade and perpendicular to it. Along the long border runs a low hedge and perpendicular to it again a hedge in the lawn as a boundary of the smallest square. Surface division and line work are here very related to the idiom of De Stijl. On the side of the drive there is a rectangular pond, which also functions as a fire-fighting pond. Two medium-sized, almost square lawns left and right of the drive to the entrance form the intermediary between the small-scale surface division close to the building and the larger lawns on the south side of the transverse lane, which are planted with scattered tree groups and where some adjoining wooded parcels have been preserved. An exception to the rectilinear layout is the slightly curved path that leads to the former bicycle shed. It is clearly visible how Ruys struggled in the southern part with the 'spaghetti style' as the landscape style was also called by modern garden architects of that time. On the north side Ruys spared a strip of woodland so that the strict, light-coloured factory building stands out against the rough, dark tree groupings. Here she had, apparently as a concession to the client, planned a piece of English landscape style.
