Omschrijving onderdeel 21
Het boerderijcomplex Scholten ligt ten noorden van de Velhorst aan het eind van de oprijlaan. Het boerderijcomplex hoort van ouds tot het landgoed. Scholten stond oorspronkelijk bekend onder de naam Groot Velhorst, dit ter onderscheid van Klein Velhorst, thans boerderij Nieboer. De boerderij werd hoogstwaarschijnlijk in de Middeleeuwen gesticht. Op de kadastrale minuut van 1825 wordt boerderij Scholten weergegeven als een fors U-vormig gebouw. Op het erf staan dan nog twee opstallen. Thans bestaat het complex uit een middenlangsdeelboerderij met aangebouwde enskamer, een aantal schuren en een eenroedige kapberg. Alleen de boerderij met aangebouwde enskamer (onderdeel 20), de middenlangsdeelschuur ten zuiden van de boerderij (onderdeel 21) en de eenroedige kapberg (onderdeel 22) komen voor bescherming in aanmerking.
De uit rode baksteen opgetrokken MIDDENLANGSDEELSCHUUR op rechthoekige plattegrond ligt direct ten zuiden van de boerderij en wordt gedekt door een wolfdak met rode pannen belegd. De schuur is in het begin van de 20ste eeuw verhoogd, gezien de sporen in het metselwerk. In de oostelijke gevel (aan de kant van het erf) een dubbele deeldeur onder segmentboog, geflankeerd door kleine rechthoekige stalvensters met vierruitsverdeling. Links een staldeurtje. The farmyard complex Scholten is located north of the Velhorst at the end of the drive. The farmyard complex has traditionally belonged to the estate. The CENTRAL-PASSAGE-PLAN BARN built of red brick on a rectangular plan lies directly south of the farm and is covered by a half-hipped roof tiled with red tiles. In the eastern gable (on the side of the yard) a double divided door under a segmental arch, flanked by small rectangular stable windows with four-pane glazing. On the left a small stable door.
