Omschrijving complexonderdeel 11: Een nabij en onder de Oude Arnhemse Bovenweg bevindende 19de-eeuwse GROTTO, vervaardigd uit cementen imitatie rotspartijen met bakstenen kern. De grotto is buiten gebruik en grotendeels met aarde gevuld. De doorgang is echter nog intact. Het front van de ingang bestaat uit een onregelmatig getoogde ingangspartij van imitatierotsen. Het materiaal dat voor de rotsen gebruikt is bestaat uit een kern van gemetselde bakstenen die met een dikke laag cement is afgedekt. Het cement is zo vorm gegeven dat het op grillig gevormde rotspartijen lijkt. De doorgang was oorspronkelijk voorzien van stalactieten, stalagmieten en spelonken.
WAARDERING
De GROTTO is in cultuurhistorisch opzicht van algemeen belang

Description
Description complex component 11: A 19th-century GROTTO situated near and under the Oude Arnhemse Bovenweg, made from cement imitation rock formations with a brick core. The grotto is no longer in use and largely filled with earth. However, the passage remains intact. The front of the entrance consists of an irregularly arched entrance section of imitation rocks. The material used for the rocks consists of a core of masonry brickwork which is covered with a thick layer of cement. The cement is shaped so that it resembles irregularly formed rock formations. The passage was originally equipped with stalactites, stalagmites and caverns.

The GROTTO is of general cultural-historical importance
