complexonderdeel 9: Een aan de Hydeparklaan gelegen 19de-eeuwse ORANJERIE in eclectische stijl met Lodewijk XIV invloeden, van een bouwlaag op rechthoekige plattegrond onder een platdak. De voorgevel heeft een symmetrische indeling en is negen traveeën breed, die met uitzondering van het midden travee met een rondboog zijn opengewerkt. De eerste, vijfde en negende travee worden door een koepel(s) bekroond, die met imitatie bitumen leien of singels zijn gedekt. Op de middelste en grootste koepel is een achtzijdige lantaarn geplaatst, die bekroond wordt door een beeld van de godin Flora en twee putti. De twee buitenste koepels worden bekroond door een lantaarn met vierkante grondvorm. De gevel is uitgevoerd in zandsteen en rijk bezet met pilasters, lisenen met imitatie voegen, cordonlijsten, rocaille motieven en getoogde frontons. De fries, penanten, frontons, sluitstenen, kapitelen en vensteromlijstingen zijn gedecoreerd met florale motieven, vooral acanthusbladeren. complex component 9: A 19th-century ORANGERY situated at the Hydeparklaan in eclectic style with Louis XIV influences, of one storey on a rectangular floor plan under a flat roof. The front facade has a symmetrical layout and is nine bays wide, which with the exception of the middle bay are worked through with arches. The first, fifth and ninth bay are crowned by a dome(s), which are covered with imitation bitumen slates or shingles. On the middle and largest dome an eight-sided lantern is placed, which is crowned by an image of the goddess Flora and two putti. The two outer domes are crowned by a lantern with square ground plan. The facade is executed in sandstone and richly furnished with pilasters, lisenes with imitation joints, stringcourses, rocaille motifs and arched pediments. The frieze, pendants, pediments, keystones, capitals and window surrounds are decorated with floral motifs, especially acanthus leaves. The facade between the domes is crowned by a balustrade consisting of ironwork with balusters between piers, with vases placed on the heavier piers.
