Inleiding
Gebouw K 4 ligt, met de grootste lengte ongeveer oost-west gericht aan de noordoostzijde van de rolbaan, op flinke afstand maar vrijwel recht ten westen van het pompgebouw van Kop van Deelen (no. 24) en vrijwel recht ten zuiden van de betonnen fundamenten met deurrails van een hangar. Gebouw K 4 werd vermoedelijk gebouwd als opslaggebouw/magazijn en is op macroniveau deel van een grote militaire vliegveldstructuur uit de periode 1940-1945, op mesoniveau van een ijl complex van in globaal lineair verband langs de rolbaan geplaatste gebouwen en al dan niet overdekte vliegtuigopstelplaatsen. Op hedendaags microniveau blijkt dat er van de in de nabijheid gerealiseerde gebouwen en opstelplaatsen weinig of niets meer over is.
Omschrijving
Eenlaags, voor wat de beide kopse gevels betreft, bakstenen OPSLAGGEBOUW / MAGAZIJN (5) op rechthoekige plattegrond en gedekt door een uit metalen golfplaat vervaardigd halfrond dak. De oostelijke kopgevel bevat een toegangsopening onder betonnen latei en met dubbele opgeklampte houten deuren met drie rechte gehengen en rechts enig oud schakelmateriaal, en verder enige ventilatieopeningen. De westelijke gevel is blind, behoudens ventilatieopeningen.
Het uit een onverdeelde ruimte bestaande interieur bevat een beklinkerde vloer en metalen bogen ter ondersteuning van het golfplaten dak.
Waardering
Het OPSLAGGEBOUW / MAGAZIJN is van algemeen belang als relatief gaaf onderdeel van een uit de Tweede Wereldoorlog stammend en door de Duitse bezetter als onderdeel van een groot militair vliegveld opgezet legerkamp, vanwege:
krijgs- en cultuurhistorische en
complex- en ensemblewaarden,
die onder meer kunnen blijken uit de samenhang van en met het totale vliegveldconcept en de ruimtelijke hoofdlijnen en onderdelen van het kampement.

Introduction
Building K 4 is located, with its greatest length oriented approximately east-west, on the north-eastern side of the runway, at a considerable distance but virtually directly west of the pump house of Kop van Deelen (no. 24) and virtually directly south of the concrete foundations with door rails of a hangar. Building K 4 was presumably built as a storage building/warehouse and is at the macro level part of a large military airfield structure from the period 1940-1945, at the meso level of a sparse complex of buildings and either uncovered or covered aircraft parking areas positioned in a broadly linear relationship along the runway. At the current micro level it appears that little or nothing remains of the buildings and parking areas that were realised in the vicinity.
Description
One-storey, as far as both gable ends are concerned, brick STORAGE BUILDING / WAREHOUSE (5) on a rectangular plan and covered by a half-cylindrical roof made of corrugated metal sheet. The eastern gable end contains an access opening under a concrete lintel and with double clamped wooden doors with three straight hinges and to the right some old switchgear, and further some ventilation openings. The western elevation is blank, except for ventilation openings.
The interior, consisting of an undivided space, contains a clinker floor and metal arches supporting the corrugated metal roof.
Valuation
The STORAGE BUILDING / WAREHOUSE is of general importance as a relatively intact component of an army camp dating from the Second World War and established by the German occupier as part of a large military airfield, due to:

which can be demonstrated among other things through the coherence of and with the total airfield concept and the spatial main lines and components of the encampment.
