Inleiding
Gebouw 5 ligt vrijstaand tussen de gebouwen 8 en IV A, aan de zuidzijde van de centrale oost-west gerichte laan Vrijland-Noord. De daknok is oost-west gericht. Gebouw 5 is een in 1941 als 'Sonderbau' tot stand gekomen militair gebouw met technische functie (motorwasserij) en is op macroniveau onderdeel van een grote militaire vliegveldstructuur uit de jaren 1940-1945, op mesoniveau van een ijl complex van in een rechthoekig-geometrische structuur geplaatste gebouwen, en hierin op microniveau van enige relatief solitair en in directe aansluiting op die ruimtelijke structuur geplaatste panden. Aan de zuidzijde van het pand is later een eenvoudig hellend afdak bijgeplaatst.
Omschrijving
Eenvoudig, eenlaags, door een met overwegend grauwe gegolfde opnieuw verbeterde holle (Hollandse) pannen belegd en flauw hellend schilddak gedekt, bakstenen MILITAIR GEBOUW MET TECHNISCHE FUNCTIE (motorwasserij) op vrijwel vierkante plattegrond. In de westelijke kopgevel / hoofdgevel een later gedeeltelijk dichtgemetselde, getoogde toegangsopening onder hanenkam, waarin dubbele naar buiten openslaande halve glazen deuren; relict van elektrisch schakelmateriaal rechts naast toegang; boven de toegang een moderne TL-balk. In de oostelijke kopgevel relatief hoog twee vensters onder rollaag, met naar buiten openslaande dubbele vierruits ramen en hieronder een tweetal ventilatieroosters. Zuidelijke langsgevel voorzien van twee vergelijkbare vensters, maar dichtgezet, en hier is tevens het hellend afdak aangebouwd. Noordelijke langsgevel blind. Mastgoten rondom. Interieur bevat resten van elektrische installatie; grijs geschilderde lambrisering en wit gepleisterde muren en betonnen plafond.

MILITAIR GEBOUW MET TECHNISCHE FUNCTIE (motorwasserij), van algemeen belang als herkenbaar onderdeel van een uit de Tweede Wereldoorlog stammend en door de Duitse bezetter als onderdeel van een groot militair vliegveld opgezet legerkamp, vanwege: stedenbouwkundige, krijgs- en cultuurhistorische en complex- en ensemblewaarden, uit de kunstmatig opgezette en sterk bij de vooraf bestaande ruimtelijke inrichting aansluitende geometrische nederzettingsstructuur en de hierbinnen tot in detaillering doorgevoerde camouflage, uit de samenhang van en met het totale militaire vliegveldconcept en de ruimtelijke hoofdlijnen en onderdelen van het kampement, en uit de onderlinge verwantschap van de hierbij toegepaste vormen.

Introduction
Building 5 is situated freestanding between buildings 8 and IV A, on the south side of the central east-west running avenue Vrijland-Noord. The roof ridge is oriented east-west. Building 5 is a military building with technical function (motor wash facility) constructed in 1941 as a 'Sonderbau' and at macro level forms part of a large military airfield structure from the years 1940-1945, at meso level of a sparse complex of buildings placed in a rectangular-geometric structure, and at micro level within this of some relatively solitary buildings placed in direct connection with that spatial structure. At the south side of the building a simple sloping lean-to roof was later attached.
Description
Simple, single-storey, covered by a gently sloping hipped roof laid with predominantly grey corrugated renewed hollow (Dutch) tiles, brick MILITARY BUILDING WITH TECHNICAL FUNCTION (motor wash facility) on an approximately square plan. In the western gable / main gable a later partially bricked-up arched access opening under a cock's comb, in which double outward-opening half-glazed doors; relic of electrical switching equipment to the right of the access; above the access a modern fluorescent tube light. In the eastern gable relatively high two windows under roof gutter, with outward-opening double four-pane windows and below these two ventilation grilles. Southern long gable provided with two similar windows, but closed off, and here the sloping lean-to roof is also attached. Northern long gable blind. Box gutters all around. Interior contains traces of electrical installation; grey-painted wainscoting and white-plastered walls and concrete ceiling.
