Omschrijving
HEKWERK, midden 19de-eeuw. Samenstel van giet- en smeedijzeren spijlen en regels met pijlpuntbekroning en verdichting aan onderzijde. Aan Voorstraatzijde openslaande inrijhekken tussen forse natuurstenen hekpalen; oorspronkelijk met ijzeren geleiderails op natuurstenen ondergrond (nog aanwezig); het hekwerk aan steegzijde (toegang tot voormalige praktijk) soberder van uitvoering.
Waardering
Hekwerk is van algemeen cultuurhistorisch en stedenbouwkundig belang:
- vanwege de ouderdom;
- vanwege de kenmerkende midden 19de-eeuwse vormgeving;
- vanwege het kenmerkende materiaalgebruik;

FENCE WORK, mid 19th century. Assembly of cast and wrought iron spikes and rails with arrowpoint crest and densification at the lower side. On the Voorstraat side opening carriage gates between substantial natural stone gate piers; originally with iron guide rails on natural stone base (still present); the fence work on the alley side (access to former practice) of simpler execution.
