Inleiding
De kwakelbrug bevindt zich over de Weipoortse Vliet, tussen de oprijlaan en het erf van de boerderij. Naast deze voetbrug bevindt zich een ophaalbrug.
Omschrijving
De KWAKELBURG, zoals voetbruggen in het westen wel worden genoemd, bestaat uit een hoog en smal brugdek met aan weerszijden schuine plankieren met gespijkerde dwarslatten. Langs de schuine planken en het platte dek zijn houten leuningen opgenomen. Aan elk kant van het water bevindt zich een betonnen landhoofd waarop telkens twee stijlen van de burg rusten. De twee stijlen worden onderling verstevigd door andreaskruisen. De betonnen landhoofden zijn tevens de fundering van de ophaalbrug.
Waardering
De KWAKELBRUG is van algemeen belang vanwege:
- als kenmerkend en in aanleg gaaf bewaard voorbeeld van een overbrugging van een vaarwater in landelijke gebied en als overgang van openbaar naar particulier terrein;
- het object heeft ensemblewaarde vanwege de samenhang met de ophaalbrug en de overige onderdelen van het agrarische bedrijf;
- het object heeft zeldzaamheidswaarde door het verdwijnen van steeds meer kwakelbruggen.

Description
The KWAKELBRUG, as footbridges are sometimes called in the west, consists of a high and narrow bridge deck with sloping planks on either side fitted with nailed cross-battens. Along the sloping planks and the flat deck are wooden railings. On each side of the water there is a concrete abutment on which rest two stanchions of the bridge each. The two stanchions are mutually reinforced by St Andrew's crosses. The concrete abutments are also the foundation of the drawbridge.

The KWAKELBRUG is of general importance because of:
- being a characteristic and substantially intact preserved example of a bridge crossing a waterway in a rural setting and as a transition from public to private land;
- the object has ensemble value due to its relationship with the drawbridge and the other components of the agricultural enterprise;
