Het BRUGGENHOOFD van de Kerkbrug, gelegen op de noordoostelijke hoek van 't Spijker (zie hiervoor onderdeel 54), zou dateren uit de tijd van de Commanderij vóór 1616. In de 16de eeuw Omstreeks die tijd zou op de noordoosthoek van het gebouw een brug zijn aangelegd die rechtstreeks toegang bood tot het terrein van de naastgelegen kerk. In de 18de eeuw vervallen werd de brug in 1837, samen met de omgrachting, weer hersteld. Van de brug rest thans alleen het bakstenen bruggenhoofd. Via een deurtje in de oostelijke aangebouwde vleugel van 't Spijker kon men direct op de brug komen. Op een tekening uit 1735 die op 't Spijker wordt bewaard is het oorspronkelijke buitenkant te zien: een veelzijdige opbouw met langgerekte vensters en kleine openingen daarboven onder een tentdak met bekroning. Het bovendeel bestaat niet meer. In het muurwerk van de noordoosthoek van 't Spijker zijn de sporen nog zichtbaar. In baksteen opgemetseld bruggenhoofd op nagenoeg vierkante grondslag. Het muurwerk is aan drie zijden opgetrokken. Aan de zuidwestkant is het open. Het bruggenhoofd heeft aan noordoostzijde een houten opgeklampte deur binnen een segmentboog, die voorheen opende op de brug. Onder de deur aan buitenzijde een natuurstenen dorpel. De binnenzijde van de beide andere gevels hebben twee spaarbogen, in een waarvan een opening. De gevels worden met een bakstenen rollaagje afgesloten.

Description
The BRIDGE HEAD of the Church Bridge, located on the northeastern corner of 't Spijker (see component 5 for this), would date from the time of the Commandery before 1616. Around that time, a bridge would have been constructed on the northeast corner of the building which provided direct access to the grounds of the adjacent church. In the 18th century, having fallen into disrepair, the bridge was restored again in 1837, together with the moated enclosure. Of the bridge, only the brick bridge head now remains. Via a small door in the eastern adjoining wing of 't Spijker one could proceed directly onto the bridge. On a drawing from 1735 which is kept at 't Spijker, the original exterior can be seen: a multi-faceted structure with elongated windows and small openings above under a pitched roof with crest. The upper part no longer exists. The traces are still visible in the masonry of the northeast corner of 't Spijker. A brick bridge head on an almost square ground plan. The masonry is built up on three sides. On the southwest side it is open. The bridge head has on the northeast side a wooden clamped door within a segmental arch, which previously opened onto the bridge. Below the door on the outside a natural stone threshold. The inside of the two other gables have two relieving arches, in one of which is an opening. The gables are finished with a brick course.
