De uit de achttiende, maar mogelijk al uit de zeventiende eeuw daterende HISTORISCHE PARKAANLEG bij Het Zelle bestaat uit een ster van zeven lanen - de achtste werd nooit gemaakt - binnen een vierkant van ongeveer 500 bij 500 meter, dat eveneens wordt gevormd door lanen. De middellijnen lopen vanaf het middelpunt de Steerne door het midden van de zijden van het grote vierkant van noordwest naar zuidoost en van zuidwest naar noordoost. De daartussen liggende diagonalen eindigen niet in de hoeken van het grote vierkant, maar tegen de zijden daarvan. De lanen zijn voor het merendeel met beuken ingeplant. De terreinen in de segmenten tussen de lanen zijn met akkers of hakhout beplant. Aan het uiteinde van de zuidoostelijke rechte laan ligt de omgrachte huisplaats. Op het terrein van de huisplaats is het oorspronkelijke beloop van de gracht nog te zien. In het begin van de negentiende eeuw is de omgrachting rond het huis vergroot en volgde sedertdien het terrein langs de rechte laan en de diagonaal waar de huisplaats was gesitueerd. De gracht wordt gevoed door de Varsselsche of Lindense Laak, een beek die aan de oostkant in de gracht stroomt. Op de punt bij de Steerne ligt binnen de omgrachting een verhevenheid, die het Bergje wordt genoemd. Van daaraf is een goed zicht op het huis en zijn bijgebouwen. Aan het eind van de negentiende of het begin van de twintigste eeuw is ten zuiden van het vierkant en aan de zuidoostzijde van de weg van Hengelo naar Ruurlo een doolhofbos aangelegd. In een waterrijk gedeelte ligt een met rechte hoeken omlopende met laanbeplanting waarover een wandeling voert. Het terrein is met twee houten bruggen toegankelijk. Aan het eind van een van de dijken bevindt zich een gebogen zodenbank.

The HISTORICAL PARK LAYOUT at Het Zelle, dating from the eighteenth, but possibly already from the seventeenth century, consists of a star of seven lanes - the eighth was never made - within a square of approximately 500 by 500 metres, which is likewise formed by lanes. The principal axes run from the centre point De Steerne through the middle of the sides of the large square from north-west to south-east and from south-west to north-east. The diagonals lying between them do not end in the corners of the large square, but against its sides. The lanes are planted for the most part with beech. The grounds in the segments between the lanes are planted with fields or coppice. At the end of the south-eastern straight lane lies the moated house plot. On the grounds of the house plot the original course of the moat can still be seen. In the early nineteenth century the moat round the house was enlarged and followed thereafter along the straight lane and the diagonal where the house plot was situated. The moat is fed by the Varsselsche or Lindense Laak, a brook which flows into the moat on the east side. On the point at De Steerne lies within the moat an elevation, which is called the Bergje. From there is a good view of the house and its outbuildings. At the end of the nineteenth or the beginning of the twentieth century a maze wood was laid out south of the square and on the south-east side of the road from Hengelo to Ruurlo. In a water-rich section lies an enclosure with right angles with lane planting over which a walk leads. The grounds are accessible by two wooden bridges. At the end of one of the embankments is a curved sod bench.
