Omschrijving
Onderdeel 1: Omschrijving Hoofdgebouw.
- wegens de ouderdom;
- wegens de eclectische stijl waarin het na 1862 is verbouwd;
-wegens de structuur van de plattegronden;
- wegens de centrale plaats in het landschapspark;
- wegens de bouw- en ontwikkelingsgeschiedenis die representatief is voor veel rurale edelmanswoningen;

Description
Component 1: Description of Main Building.
The MAIN BUILDING Huis Ter Leede was built in the third quarter of the 17th century as a pleasure house adjoining an already existing farmhouse. Following a fire in 1861 in which a large part of the house was destroyed, it was rebuilt in eclectic style making use of the cellars and some old masonry. The house was restored in the 1980s.
A plastered building on a composite plan, consisting of a rectangular section on the north side (the oldest part) and two extensions on the south side from 1862-1863, in which the entrance and service rooms were located. The plasterwork is decorated with struck joints. Ornamental stucco mouldings are applied around the windows. The rectangular section contains a cellar storey, principal storey, first storey and attic and is terminated by an overhanging gabled roof on consoles with decorative sawwork along the roofline. In the long façade (north) cellar lights with 17th-century natural stone frames and iron bars, eight- and six-pane windows with blinds and half windows beneath the roof edge. Crenellated frieze in the stuccowork beneath the roof edge. The three-sided extension on the southwest corner contains the entrance with staircase, is two storeys high and is crowned by a tent roof with a wooden bell tower, topped with wrought-iron ornaments and a weathervane. The central section of this extension has an arched termination. Along the roof edge an arched frieze decoration is applied in stucco. The front door with fanlight has an undulating stucco moulding with neo-Louis XIV crest ornament as crowning. Above it a window with moulding with consoles at the springing points and a wide arch with a keystone as closure. The windows of the side sections are separated by a drip moulding.
In the interior one enters via a vestibule into the hall from which the rooms in the rectangular section are directly accessible and via a corridor the service rooms (kitchen and pantry) can be reached. In the hall a curved staircase to the storey above and a staircase to the lower storey with the cellars. Of the four cellars in the oldest, rectangular section, the most westerly is fitted with a cross-rib vault (stripped of plaster during the war) on brick piers. The remaining cellars are covered with barrel vaults between wooden beams. Floor with blue brick surfaces. The basement is accessible from outside via a door on the east side. The arrangement of the ground floor is original, the decoration and finish being the result of restoration in the 1980s.
Valuation
The MAIN BUILDING Huis Ter Leede is of general cultural and architectural-historical importance:
- on account of its age;
- on account of the eclectic style in which it was altered after 1862;
- on account of the structure of the floor plans;
- on account of its central position in the landscaped park;
- on account of the construction and development history which is representative of many rural noble residences;
- on account of the functional-spatial relationship with the other components of the country estate.
