Inleiding
MOLEN MET PAKHUIS. De als bergmolen uitgevoerde ronde stenen molen is in 1849 gebouwd als koren- en schorsmolen. De belt is in de eerste helft van de 20e eeuw vervangen door een bakstenen pakhuis. De molen is in 1950 als gevolg van in 1944 opgelopen oorlogsschade onttakeld, waarbij het wiekenkruis, de kap en het gaande werk werden verwijderd. De incomplete molen kreeg vervolgens een functie als opslagruimte en als mechanische maalderij. De molen is in 1997 voorzien van een nieuwe kap, een nieuw wiekenkruis en een nieuw gaande werk. De molen heeft thans de functie van restaurant. De molen is rondom ingebouwd in het bijbehorende pakhuis dat tevens functioneert als belt. De molen is zichtbaar in de omgeving.
Omschrijving
De molen bestaat uit de ronde conisch gemetselde bakstenen romp met houten kap en een bakstenen achtkante aanbouw rondom tegen de molen. De molen bestaat uit vijf bouwlagen. De uit één bouwlaag bestaande aanbouw is voorzien van een plat dak dat functioneert als belt. De kap kruit op een engels kruiwerk, wordt gekruid middels een staart met een kruihaspel en is gedekt met hout waarover een bitumineuze dakbedekking. De molen is ingericht als maalvaardige windkorenmolen. De molen is voorzien van een gietijzeren bovenas. De gelaste stalen roeden zijn voorzien van het Oud-Hollandse wieksysteem. In de molen is een Rustondieselmotor aanwezig. De bijbehorende maalstoel is thans verdwenen.
Waardering
De molen met pakhuis is van algemeen belang:
- vanwege bouwtechnisch-historische waarden als een representant van een ronde stenen koren- en schorsmolen uit het midden van de negentiende eeuw waarvan de belt later is vervangen door een stenen pakhuis;
- vanwege cultuurhistorische waarden als onderdeel van de geschiedenis van de graanmaalderijen en de leerindustrie van Nederland en de industriële ontwikkeling van Noord-Brabant en de plaatselijke geschiedenis;
- vanwege ensemblewaarden van de molen en het pakhuis;
- vanwege de gaafheid van de molenbiotoop;

MILL WITH WAREHOUSE. The round stone mill, designed as a storage mill, was built in 1849 as a grain and bark mill. The belt was replaced in the first half of the 20th century by a brick warehouse. The mill was dismantled in 1950 as a result of war damage sustained in 1944, whereby the sails, roof and machinery were removed. The incomplete mill subsequently acquired a function as a storage space and as a mechanical mill. The mill was provided with a new roof, new sails and new machinery in 1997. The mill now functions as a restaurant. The mill is enclosed on all sides in the adjoining warehouse which also functions as a belt. The mill is visibly situated in the surrounding landscape.
