Inleiding
INCOMPLETE MOLEN.
De als beltmolen uitgevoerde achtkante molen met de naam 'De Haarmolen' is in 1854 gebouwd als koren- en oliemolen. De molen is omstreeks 1928 onttakeld, waarbij het wiekenkruis, de kap, de belt en het gaande werk werden verwijderd. De incomplete molen kreeg een functie in de mengvoederfabricage als opslagruimte en was tot omstreeks 2000 als zodanig in gebruik. De incomplete molen ligt ingebouwd in een complex van een mengvoederfabriek. Ten noordwesten is een loods aangebouwd die buiten de werking van de Monumentenwet 1988 valt. De molen ligt in een open omgeving en heeft daarin een beduidende landschappelijke betekenis.
Omschrijving
De incomplete molen bestaat uit een gemetselde bakstenen onderachtkant met daarop een houten achtkant. Het onderachtkant is tot de bovenkant van de voormalige belt voorzien van hoeklisenen. De belt is vervangen door diverse niet beschermenswaardige aanbouwen van de latere mengvoederfabriek. De uit vijf bouwlagen bestaande incomplete molen is vanaf de duisplanken gedekt met riet en voorzien van een plat dak. Op het dak staat een rechthoekige verhoging met een zadeldak.
Waardering
De incomplete molen is van algemeen belang:
- vanwege bouwtechnisch-historische waarden als herkenbaar en representatief relict van een houten achtkante koren- en oliemolen uit het midden van de 19e eeuw;
- vanwege cultuurhistorische waarden als onderdeel van de geschiedenis van de graanmaalderijen en de olieslagerijen van Nederland en de industriële ontwikkeling van Overijssel en de plaatselijke geschiedenis;
- vanwege situationele waarden betreffende de open omgeving;
- vanwege het feit dat dit van oorsprong een beltmolen was, een verschijningsvorm die in deze regio vrij zeldzaam was.

The octagonal belt mill named 'De Haarmolen' was built in 1854 as a grain and oil mill. The mill was dismantled around 1928, with the sails, cap, belt and running gear removed. The incomplete mill was given a function in the compound feed manufacturing as storage space and was in use as such until around 2000. The incomplete mill is built into a complex of a compound feed factory. To the north-west a shed has been added which falls outside the application of the Monuments Act 1988. The mill lies in an open environment and has a significant landscape significance within it.
Description
The incomplete mill consists of a brick-built lower octagon with a wooden octagon on top. The lower octagon is provided with corner pilasters up to the top of the former belt. The belt has been replaced by various non-protected extensions from the later compound feed factory. The incomplete mill, consisting of five storeys, is covered from the duisplanken with thatch and provided with a flat roof. On the roof stands a rectangular structure with a gabled roof.
