Inleiding
INCOMPLETE MOLEN. De ronde stenen molen is in 1859 gebouwd als koren- en pelmolen. De molen is in 1923 onttakeld, waarbij het wiekenkruis, de kap en de stelling werden verwijderd. Het gaande werk werd omstreeks 1976 deels verwijderd. De incomplete molen heeft thans geen functie. Hij ligt in de kern van het dorp, ten zuidwesten van de kerk. De incomplete molen ligt in een open omgeving en heeft een zeer belangrijke functie in zowel het landschap als het dorpsbeeld.
Omschrijving
De incomplete molen bestaat uit de ronde conisch gemetselde bakstenen romp. De taillering van de romp heeft ter hoogte van de voormalige stelling een markante knik. De uit vijf bouwlagen bestaande incomplete molen is voorzien van een plat dak ter hoogte van de vroegere kapzolder. In de molen zijn op meerdere plaatsen restanten van het gaande werk aanwezig van de beide voormalige functies van de molen, nl.: koningsspil met draagbalk, twee koppels blauwe maalstenen, pasbalken, luias met luiwiel en gaffelwiel en de pelkist van de vroegere pelsteen.
Waardering
De incomplete molen is van algemeen belang:
- vanwege bouwtechnisch-historische waarden als herkenbaar en representatief relict van een ronde stenen koren- en pelmolen uit het midden van de 19e eeuw met nog een restant van het pelwerk wat thans zeer zeldzaam is;
- vanwege cultuurhistorische waarden als onderdeel van de geschiedenis van de graanmaalderijen van Nederland en de industriële ontwikkeling van Zeeland en de plaatselijke geschiedenis;
- vanwege ensemblewaarden in relatie tot de dorpskern;
- vanwege situationele waarden betreffende de historische gaafheid van de omgeving;
- vanwege de gaafheid van de molenbiotoop.

INCOMPLETE MILL. The round stone mill was built in 1859 as a corn and hulling mill. The mill was dismantled in 1923, whereby the sail cross, the cap and the post were removed. The working parts were partly removed around 1976. The incomplete mill now has no function. It is situated in the village centre, south-west of the church. The incomplete mill is situated in an open setting and has a very important function in both the landscape and the village townscape.
Description
The incomplete mill consists of the round conically mortared brick body. The tapering of the body has a marked kink at the height of the former post. The incomplete mill consisting of five storeys is provided with a flat roof at the height of the former cap floor. In the mill there are remains of the working parts on several locations from both former functions of the mill, namely: royal spindle with support beam, two pairs of blue millstones, levelling beams, discharge chute with discharge wheel and bevel wheel and the hulling box of the former hulling stone.

- on account of structural-historical values as a recognizable and representative relic of a round stone corn and hulling mill from the mid-19th century with still a remainder of the hulling work which is now extremely rare;

- on account of situational values concerning the historical integrity of the surroundings;
