Inleiding
MOLENROMP. De achtkante molen is vermoedelijk in de 19e eeuw gebouwd als korenmolen. Bij de bouw van de molen werd mogelijk een bestaand van elders gekomen achtkant gebruikt. De molen is onttakeld, waarbij het wiekenkruis, de kap en het gaande werk werden verwijderd. De molenromp kreeg een functie als vakantieverblijf en is tot op heden als zodanig in gebruik. De molenromp ligt aan de noordzijde van de Wijde Aa, op de dijk van de droogmakerij De Veenderpolder. Nabij de molenromp staan enige oude bijgebouwen en een bijgebouw van jongere datum. Deze bijgebouwen vallen buiten de werking van de Monumentenwet. De molenromp is dominant aanwezig in een open polder- en plassengebied.
Omschrijving
Het staande werk van de molenromp bestaat uit een lage gemetselde bakstenen voet met daarop een houten achtkant. De uit vier bouwlagen bestaande molenromp is gedekt met riet en voorzien van een plat dak.
Waardering
De molenromp is van algemeen belang:
- vanwege bouwtechnisch-historische waarden als herkenbaar en representatief relict van een houten achtkante korenmolen;
- vanwege cultuurhistorische waarden als onderdeel van de geschiedenis van de graanmaalderijen van Nederland en de industriële ontwikkeling van Zuid-Holland en de plaatselijke geschiedenis;
- vanwege situationele waarden betreffende zijn ligging en de historische gaafheid van de omgeving;
- vanwege de gaafheid van de molenbiotoop.

Introduction
MILL BODY. The octagonal mill is presumably built in the 19th century as a grain mill. During the construction of the mill, an existing octagonal structure from elsewhere may have been used. The mill has been dismantled, with the wind cross, cap and running gear removed. The mill body was given a function as holiday accommodation and continues to be used as such to this day. The mill body is located on the north side of the Wijde Aa, on the dyke of the polder De Veenderpolder. Near the mill body stand some old outbuildings and an outbuilding of more recent date. These outbuildings fall outside the scope of the Heritage Preservation Act. The mill body is prominently present in an open polder and lake landscape area.
Description
The standing structure of the mill body consists of a low masonry brick base with a wooden octagon on top. The mill body, consisting of four storeys, is covered with thatch and provided with a flat roof.
