Omschrijving
TWEE TOEGANGSKOLOMMEN. De toegangskolommen staan opgesteld aan de van Limburg Stirumlaan die haaks op de Amsterdamseweg is gesitueerd, als een van de twee paren identieke markeringen van de toegang tot het landgoed Mariëndaal. De kolommen zijn uitgevoerd in een op het classicisme geënte stijl en dateren vermoedelijk uit de tweede helft van de negentiende eeuw.
Elk van de twee identieke gietijzeren witgeschilderde toegangskolommen rust op een achthoekige sokkel die zich naar boven toe tweemaal verkleint. De ronde schacht met de (vernieuwde) belettering 'MARIENDAAL' wordt door vier zuiltjes geflankeerd en bekroond door een achthoekig deksel.
Waardering
De TWEE TOEGANGSKOLOMMEN als onderdeel van de historische buitenplaats 'Mariëndaal' zijn van algemeen belang:
- vanwege de bijzondere esthetische kwaliteit voor wat betreft de vormgeving en het toegepaste materiaal gietijzer;

TWO ACCESS COLUMNS. The access columns are positioned on the van Limburg Stirumlaan which is situated at right angles to the Amsterdamseweg, as one of two pairs of identical markers of the entrance to the estate Mariëndaal. The columns are executed in a style based on classicism and dating presumably from the second half of the nineteenth century.
Each of the two identical cast iron white-painted access columns rests on an octagonal base which narrows upward twice. The round shaft with the (renewed) lettering 'MARIENDAAL' is flanked by four small columns and crowned by an octagonal lid.
Valuation
The TWO ACCESS COLUMNS as part of the historic country estate 'Mariëndaal' are of general interest:
- because of the particular aesthetic quality with regard to the design and the applied material cast iron;
- because of the functional and situational value through the prominent placement on the street side;
- as a particular expression of a development in the (residential) history of the country estate;
- because of the ensemble value in relation to the other components of the historic country estate 'Mariëndaal'.
