Inleiding
MOLENROMP. De achtkante binnenkruier is in 1860 gebouwd als poldermolen voor de bemaling van de Kostverlorenpolder. De molen heeft op dezelfde standplaats een voorganger gekend. De molen is omstreeks 1912 onttakeld, waarbij het wiekenkruis, de kap, de romp tot de kapzolder en het gaande werk werden verwijderd. De molenromp kreeg daarna een functie als woning. De molenromp ligt in een open polderlandschap.
Omschrijving
De molenromp bestaat uit een lage gemetselde bakstenen voet met daarop een houten achtkant. De van twee bintlagen voorziene molenromp is ter hoogte van de kapzolder ingekort, is ter hoogte van de begane grond bekleed met potdekselwerk van houten delen en is vanaf de duisplanken gedekt met riet. De romp is voorzien van een puntdak dat is gedekt met dakpannen en een (inpandige) gedenkplaat die betrekking heeft op de herbouw in 1860.
Waardering
De molenromp is van algemeen belang:
- vanwege bouwtechnisch-historische waarden als herkenbaar en representatief relict van een houten achtkante poldermolen uit het midden van de 19e eeuw;
- vanwege cultuurhistorische waarden als essentieel onderdeel van de ontginnings- en waterstaatkundige geschiedenis van Noord-Holland en de plaatselijke geschiedenis;
- vanwege de gaafheid van de molenbiotoop.

Introduction
MILL BODY. The octagonal inside-geared mill was built in 1860 as a polder drainage mill for the drainage of the Kostveerloren polder. The mill had a predecessor on the same site. The mill was dismantled around 1912, whereby the sails, roof, mill body down to the roof floor and operating machinery were removed. The mill body subsequently served as a dwelling. The mill body lies in an open polder landscape.
Description
The mill body consists of a low built brick base with an octagonal wooden structure above. The mill body provided with two binding layers is shortened at the level of the roof floor, is clad with potsherd work of wooden elements at the level of the ground floor and is thatched from the sheathing boards. The body is furnished with a pitched roof covered with roof tiles and an (integral) memorial plaque relating to the rebuilding in 1860.
Valuation
The mill body is of general importance:
- because of construction-historical values as a recognizable and representative remnant of a wooden octagonal polder mill from the middle of the 19th century;
- because of cultural-historical values as an essential component of the reclamation and water management history of North Holland and local history;
