Omschrijving onderdeel 2
HISTORISCHE TUIN- EN PARKAANLEG, XVIII en XIX; de bescheiden uitingen van landschapsarchitectuur op Hackfort dateren van rond 1800 en zijn geheel ingebed in het parkachtige karakter van het agrarisch cultuurlandschap, dat "opgehangen" is aan de min of meer oost-west lopende Hackfortse beek en de beide lange elkaar onder een hoek van 65 graden kruisende eikenlanen, waarvan de aanleg waarschijnlijk van kort voor 1700 dateert. De parkaanleg bestaat uit: a. voorplein b. wandelbosje c. moestuin d. bospercelen, weilanden en akkers
ad a.: het voorplein heeft een parkachtig karakter en bestaat in feite uit grasvelden met een onregelmatige beplanting van voornamelijk oude eiken en beuken (waaronder rode); vanaf de Baakseweg loopt er een smalle klinkerweg, in de vorm van een 8 rondlopend, naar het bordes van het kasteel; langs de beek een flankerend bosje met onderbegroeiing van o.a. rododendrons.
ad b.: tegenover het kasteel ligt langs de zuidoever van de beek een wandelbosje, XIXa of ouder, met slingerpaden, die via een brug (zie onder 6) verbinding hebben met het voorplein; nabij de Baakseweg is een kleine waterpartij; het bosje strekt zich als smalle strook verder in westelijke richting uit langs de beek. Vanaf de wandeling door het bosje zijn er fraaie zichten op de hoge akker in het zuidwesten.
ad c.: ten noorden van het bouwhuis ligt een grote moestuin, waarin slechts één koude bak en een nieuwe schutting; ook enkele fruitbomen.
ad d.: langs de Baakseweg ligt tot aan het kruispunt met de Hackfortselaan een strook bos met daarin een lange brede sloot evenwijdig aan de weg; verder een langgerekt bosperceel met dito vijver ten noorden van de moestuin; achter het kasteel een weiland met eiken als solitair en in groepjes, die een diagonaal gezicht vanuit het huis begeleiden; dit gezicht -gedeeltelijk dicht geplant- loopt tot aan de Hackfortselaan; nabij de eiken aan de beek een heuveltje, waar vandaan een goed uitzicht op het huis; enkel andere weien en akkers zijn door hoogteverschillen en gezichten verbonden met de kern van de aanleg en maken zodoende deel uit van het beschermde gebied.

HISTORIC GARDEN AND PARK LAYOUT, 18th and 19th centuries; the modest expressions of landscape architecture at Hackfort dating from around 1800 are entirely embedded in the park-like character of the agricultural cultural landscape, which is "hung" on the more or less east-west running Hackfortse beek and the two long oak avenues crossing each other at an angle of 65 degrees, the layout of which probably dates from shortly before 1700. The park layout consists of: a. forecourt b. walking wood c. kitchen garden d. wooded parcels, meadows and fields
re a.: the forecourt has a park-like character and essentially consists of lawns with an irregular planting of mainly old oaks and beeches (including red); from the Baakseweg a narrow brick path runs, in the form of a figure 8, to the terrace of the castle; along the stream a flanking wood with underplanting including rhododendrons.
re b.: opposite the castle lies a walking wood along the south bank of the stream, 19th century early or older, with winding paths which have connection via a bridge (see under 6) with the forecourt; near the Baakseweg is a small water feature; the wood extends as a narrow strip further westward along the stream. From the walk through the wood there are fine views of the high field in the southwest.
re c.: north of the farmhouse lies a large kitchen garden, in which only one cold frame and a new fence; also some fruit trees.
re d.: along the Baakseweg until the intersection with the Hackfortselaan lies a strip of wood containing a long wide ditch parallel to the road; further an elongated wooded parcel with similarly a pond north of the kitchen garden; behind the castle a meadow with oaks as single trees and in groups, which guide a diagonal view from the house; this view -partially densely planted- runs to the Hackfortselaan; near the oaks at the stream a small hill, from which there is a good view of the house; only other meadows and fields are connected by height differences and views with the core of the layout and thus form part of the protected area.
