CASTLE, originally 14th century, enlarged and altered many times over the centuries, most recently in 1788; brick building on rectangular ground plan with round towers on the northeast and southwest corners; the latter connected to the main building via an intermediate section of 2 storeys; two storeys on cellar level with rib-free cross vaults; surrounding hipped roof with grey tiles; opened on the north side due to hidden gutter; on the roof a wrought-iron bell cote, 18th century (containing 16th-century bell) and an early seventeenth-century chimney, composed of four round brick pipes; towers with octagonal helm roof with slates, crowned by open lanterns, likewise under helm roof with weather vanes. Front facade (east) of 5 bays, of which the middle one, projecting slightly from the facade and under a pediment, consists of the entrance door with blocked surround in 16th-century style and to the left and right a narrow window with glazing bars; bel-étage with 8-pane windows, on the storey 6-pane; splaying natural stone steps of 8 treads and with simple iron railings; below this access to cellar level; rear facade (west) plastered and with windows with glazing bars.
