Inleiding
OVEN voor het bakken van kleipijpen, gebouwd in 1856, in opdracht van de pijpenfabriek Trumm-Bergmans, die werd opgericht in Maastricht in 1846 en werd verplaatst naar Weert in 1855. De oven is gebouwd in de stijl van het Traditionalisme. De oven staat binnen de bebouwde kom langs de Zuid-WiIllemsvaart, ongeveer 50 meter van de plaats waar hij oorspronkelijk gesitueerd was. In 1915 werd de oven geheel gerenoveerd. In 1933 schakelde de fabriek geheel over op houten bruyere-pijpen en rokersbenodigdheden en werd de oven aangepast en gebruikt als verbrandingsoven voor het houtafval van bruyere-pijpen.
Het bakstenen aanbouwmuurtje is in 1989 bij de verplaatsing van de oven gebouwd.
Omschrijving
Kleipijpenoven, in een bouwlaag, met een vierkant grondplan met een centrale ronde bakstenen schoorsteen met siermetselwerk. De overgang van het vierkante grondplan naar de ronde schoorsteen geschiedt door taps toelopende gevelvlakken. De oven is deels opgetrokken in baksteen, gemetseld in kruisverband, deels in chamotte met ijzeren muurankers. Rondboogvormige gevelopeningen. In de voorgevel bevindt zich een toegangspoortje voor brandstoftoevoer met een gecementeerde omlijsting. De rechtergevel heeft twee stookgaten en vier luchttoevoeropeningen. De achtergevel heeft een grote gevelopening, afgedekt met een kunststof venster gevat in hout. De linkergevel heeft vier luchttoevoeropeningen.
Waardering

OVEN for baking clay pipes, built in 1856, commissioned by the pipe factory Trumm-Bergmans, which was established in Maastricht in 1846 and was moved to Weert in 1855. The transition from the square ground plan to the round chimney is achieved through tapering façade planes. The oven is partly constructed of brick, laid in Flemish bond, partly of chamotte with iron wall anchors. Round-arched façade openings. In the front façade there is a small access door for fuel supply with a cemented surround. The right façade has two firing holes and four air supply openings.
