Inleiding
Het complex van de Peel-Raamstelling in de gemeente Weert begint aan de Belgische grens in de zuidwesthoek.en volgt de Zuid-Willemsvaart in noordoostelijke richting. Kazematten K 6, K 7 en K 8 vormen een stelling van drie kazematten bij het buurtschap Hushoven.
Kazemat K 8 staat in de tuin achter het pand Maasenweg 6 en bevindt zich op ongeveer een kilometer ten noorden van de Zuid-Willemsvaart.
Dit is een kazemat van het type P. Dit zijn niet planmatig gebouwde kazematten.
Beschrijving
De kazemat K 8 is aan de noordzijde van de Zuid-Willemsvaart gesitueerd. De kazemat is uitgevoerd in gewapend beton. Het gebouwtje heeft thans geen functie. De kazemat heeft enkele rechthoekige schietopeningen en een deuropening. De kazemat meet ongeveer vier bij vier meter.
Waardering
De kazemat is van algemeen belang. Het object heeft cultuurhistorische waarde als bijzondere uitdrukking van een culturele en geografische ontwikkeling, namelijk de versterking en daaropvolgende verdediging van Nederland tijdens de Tweede Wereldoorlog en is als zodanig een belangrijk document van de militaire geschiedenis. Het is architectuur- en bouwhistorisch van belang wegens het bijzondere materiaalgebruik en de toepassing van moderne materialen en technieken, met name in de verwerking van gewapend beton. Het is ook van belang voor de typologische ontwikkeling van diverse verdedigingsobjecten- en structuren inzake de nationale landsverdediging.
De kazemat heeft ensemblewaarden als essentieel onderdeel van een groter geheel: enerzijds als onderdeel van de landsverdediging (het geheel aan stellingen aan de vooravond van de Tweede Wereldoorlog), en anderzijds als belangrijk (structurerend) onderdeel van het Peelgebied dat als militair landschap cultuurhistorisch van belang is. De kazemat heeft een bijzondere historisch-ruimtelijke relatie met wegen, wateren en bodemgesteldheid van het gebied. De kazemat is in redelijke mate in tact.

Introduction
The Peel-Raam fortification complex in the municipality of Weert begins at the Belgian border in the south-western corner and follows the Zuid-Willemsvaart in a north-eastern direction. Casemates K 6, K 7 and K 8 form a position of three casemates near the hamlet of Hushoven.

Description
Casemate K 8 is situated on the north side of the Zuid-Willemsvaart. The casemate is executed in reinforced concrete. The small building currently has no function. The casemate has several rectangular gun-ports and a door opening. The casemate measures approximately four by four metres.

The casemate is of general importance. The object has cultural-historical value as a particular expression of a cultural and geographical development, namely the fortification and subsequent defence of the Netherlands during the Second World War and is as such an important document of military history. It is of architectural and construction-historical importance because of the particular use of materials and the application of modern materials and techniques, in particular in the use of reinforced concrete. It is also of importance for the typological development of various defensive objects and structures concerning national territorial defence.
