The hull is what remains of a round stone bergmolen (mountain mill) that was built in the years 1883-84, possibly using components from a mill demolished elsewhere, and was fitted out as a grain mill with three pairs of stones. The berg was partly excavated on the street side in 1904 and replaced by a stone extension, in which since 1909 a mechanical mill in the form of a suction gas motor, with millstones installed on the ground floor below in the mill, was placed. Later the extension was further enlarged on the south side and northeast corner. In 1924 the suction gas motor was replaced by an oil motor and the mill was fitted with a mixing kettle. In the course of 1945 the then oil motor was replaced by a heavier one(?). During the operation 'Market Garden' in the Second World War the windmill, which served as an observation post and recognition point, was severely damaged during fighting in the second half of September 1944. Repair attempts were unsuccessful due to the circumstances at that time.

Following the damage to the roof, sails and upper part of the masonry hull that occurred in 1944, these components were removed in 1946. The hull with extension subsequently took on, in addition to the functions of grinding and mixing grain products, those of storage and silo space for domestic fuels and artificial fertilizer.
