Achttiende-, negentiende- en deels vroeg twintigste-eeuwse WINKEL met BOVENWONING met natuurstenen STOEP en smeedijzeren HEK gebouwd in een eclectische stijl, deel uitmakend van het complex Kwakkelstein.
Omschrijving
Winkel met bovenwoning en natuurstenen stoep met smeedijzeren hek op een rechthoekige plattegrond in de rooilijn van de Westhavenkade opgetrokken in baksteen met een lijstgevel voorzien van wit gepleisterd blokwerk. Het pand is onderkelderd en telt twee bouwlagen en een kapverdieping onder een met gesmoorde holle pannen gedekt schilddak, rechts aanlopend tegen de iets hoger opgaande bouwmuur van het buurpand. De kozijnen van de (schuif)vensters en deuren zijn van hout en voorzien van bovenlichten. Rechts in de gevel geeft een eenvoudige deur met tweelichtvenster toegang tot zowel de winkel als de bovenwoning. De deur is omlijst met pilasters en voorzien van een houten hoofdgestel. Links hiernaast twee hoge houten schuifvensters. Op de verdieping twee vensters met glas-in-lood in de bovenlichten. Tussen de vensters op de verdieping een ijzeren uithangbord met het wapen van het Koninkrijk der Nederlanden en hieronder een rechthoekig bord met in kapitalen de wapenspreuk 'JE MAINTIENDRAI' en daaronder in kapitalen 'HET WAPEN VAN HOLLAND'. De gevel wordt afgesloten door een brede geprofileerde lijst met bakgoot. Tussen de verdieping en langs de daklijn bevinden zich smeedijzeren muurankers. In het dak bevindt zich een grote dakkapel met vierruits venster en een uitstekende geprofileerde daklijst van het platte met zink beklede dak. In het interieur is nog een deel van de oorspronkelijke indeling en inrichting bewaard gebleven: met name van belang zijn de door moerbalken gedragen houten plafonds en de bedsteden in de achterkamer van de bovenwoning.
Voor het pand bevindt zich een natuurstenen stoep uit het midden van de negentiende eeuw bestaande uit natuurstenen zerken met vier gedecoreerde achthoekige stoeppijlers van beton waartussen een gedecoreerd smeedijzeren hekwerk in Jugendstiltrant.

Achttiende- en grotendeels negentiende-eeuwse winkel met bovenwoning en deels bewaard interieur, met stoep en stoephek, van algemeen belang vanwege architectuur- en cultuurhistorische waarde, vanwege de bijzondere samenhang tussen exterieur en interieur, alsook van belang wegens ensemblewaarde met overige complexonderdelen behorende bij het pakhuiscomplex Kwakkelstein en situationele waarde verbonden met de ontwikkeling van de stad.

Description
Shop with residential storey and natural stone stoep with wrought-iron gate on a rectangular floor plan located in the building line of the Westhavenkade constructed in brick with a cornice-topped facade provided with white plastered ashlar. The building is cellared and comprises two storeys and a roof space under a hipped roof covered with muted hollow tiles, rising on the right against the slightly higher-rising building wall of the neighbouring property. The frames of the (sash) windows and doors are of wood and provided with fanlights. On the right in the facade a simple door with two-light window provides access to both the shop and the residential storey. The door is framed with pilasters and provided with a wooden header. To the left of this two tall wooden sash windows. On the storey two windows with leaded glass in the fanlights. Between the windows on the storey an iron signboard with the coat of arms of the Kingdom of the Netherlands and below a rectangular board with in capitals the heraldic motto 'JE MAINTIENDRAI' and below in capitals 'HET WAPEN VAN HOLLAND'. The facade is closed off by a broad profiled moulding with gutter. Between the storey and along the roof line are wrought-iron wall anchors. In the roof is a large dormer with four-pane window and a projecting profiled roof edge of the flat zinc-clad roof. In the interior a part of the original layout and furnishings is still preserved: of particular importance are the wooden ceilings supported by tie beams and the built-in beds in the back room of the residential storey.
Before the building is a natural stone stoep from the mid-nineteenth century consisting of natural stone grave slabs with four decorated octagonal concrete bollards between which a decorated wreath-work wrought-iron railing in Art Nouveau style.
Valuation
Eighteenth- and largely nineteenth-century shop with residential storey above and partly preserved interior, with stoep and stoep railing, of general importance for its architectural and cultural-historical value, for the special relationship between exterior and interior, and also of importance for its ensemble value with other components of the warehouse complex Kwakkelstein and situational value connected with the development of the city.
