Inleiding
Vrijstaande SCHUUR, behorend bij de versterkte herenboerderij Bekestein. De schuur dateert uit XIXA en is in ca. 1900 verplaatst en gewijzigd. De schuur is opgetrokken in Ambachtelijk-traditionele bouwtrant met streekvreemde kenmerken en ligt op een ruim erf, net buiten de kom van het dorp.
Omschrijving
Schuur met paardenstal, langs- en dwarsdeel onder golfplaten wolfsdak. De schuur, die getuige de gebintconstructie wellicht uit West-Brabant afkomstig is, stond tot ca. 1900 met de nok haaks op het huis, deels op de plaats van de huidige aangebouwde schuur en is afgebroken, waarbij het gebint opnieuw werd opgericht en van nieuwe muren voorzien. Inwendig staan er 4 eiken gebinten met korte gehakte telmerken volgens het type van de Vlaamse schuur. Links als ankerbalk uitgevoerd, rechts opgelegd en overstekend. Op de dekbalken staan A-spanten. In een hoek is een houten paardenstal afgeschoten. De buitenmuren zijn rond 1900 geheel nieuw in machinale steen opgetrokken. In een korte gevel bevindt zich rechts een grote schuifdeur die toegang verleent tot de langsdeel. De lange gevel rechts heeft een soortgelijke schuifdeur voor een dwarsdeel. Verder staldeuren en ijzeren zesruits stalramen. De korte achtermuur is ca. 1980 geheel vernieuwd in machinale steen.
Waardering
De schuur met het gebint van een Vlaamse schuur, behorend bij de versterkte herenboerderij Bekestein, is van algemeen belang. De schuur heeft cultuurhistorische waarde als bijzondere uitdrukking van een sociaal-economische ontwikkeling, als voorbeeld van herhaald hergebruik van het gebint van een Vlaamse schuur. Het pand heeft architectuurhistorische waarde vanwege de in- en uitwendig gaaf behouden hoofdstructuur en het deels traditionele materiaalgebruik alsmede vanwege de gave gebintconstructie. De schuur heeft samen met de bijbehorende herenboerderij en sporen van de omgrachting ensemblewaarde wegens de verbondenheid met de historisch-ruimtelijke ontwikkeling van het dorp Oploo.

Introduction
Freestanding BARN, belonging to the fortified gentleman farmer's house Bekestein. The barn dates from the 19th century and was moved and modified around 1900. The barn is constructed in a traditional craft manner with regional foreign characteristics and is situated on a spacious farmyard, just outside the village settlement.
Description
Barn with horse stable, lengthwise and transverse section under corrugated iron half-hipped roof. The barn, which judging by the timber frame construction perhaps originates from West Brabant, stood until around 1900 with the ridge at right angles to the house, partly on the site of the current adjoining barn and was demolished, the timber frame being re-erected and provided with new walls. Inside there are 4 oak timber frames with short hacked carpenters' marks according to the Flemish barn type. On the left side as a tie beam, on the right side laid on and projecting. On the purlins stand A-frames. In a corner a wooden horse stable is partitioned off. The outer walls were completely newly constructed in machine-made brick around 1900. In a short gable wall is located on the right a large sliding door that provides access to the lengthwise section. The long gable wall on the right has a similar sliding door for a transverse section. Furthermore stable doors and iron six-light stable windows. The short rear wall was completely renewed in machine-made brick around 1980.
Valuation
The barn with the timber frame of a Flemish barn, belonging to the fortified gentleman farmer's house Bekestein, is of general importance. The barn has cultural-historical value as a remarkable expression of social-economic development, as an example of repeated reuse of the timber frame of a Flemish barn. The building has architectural-historical value because of the integrity of the main structure preserved both internally and externally and the partly traditional use of materials as well as because of the well-preserved timber frame construction. The barn has together with the associated gentleman farmer's house and traces of the surrounding moat ensemble value because of the connection with the historical-spatial development of the village of Oploo.
