Inleiding
DIJKPAAL opgericht rond 1860 als onderdeel van een groter geheel dat bestaat uit twee peilschaalhuisjes en 9 dijkpalen langs de Lekdijk in de gemeenten Schoonhoven en Lopik. Langs de Lekdijk tussen Vreeswijk en Schoonhoven stonden tien van dergelijke genummerde palen. Met uitzondering van nummer één zijn de palen nog aanwezig. Deze zijn allen onder afzonderlijke nummers beschermd.
Omschrijving
Natuurstenen, vierkante paal van circa 160 cm. hoog. De bovenzijde is voorzien van een profiellijst. Aan de rivierzijde (zuidzijde) van de paal is in bas-reliëf het nummer 10 aangegeven.

De dijkpaal is van algemeen belang vanwege de architectuur- en cultuurhistorische waarde

Introduction
DIKE POST erected around 1860 as part of a larger complex consisting of two gauge house cottages and 9 dike posts along the Lekdijk in the municipalities of Schoonhoven and Lopik. Along the Lekdijk between Vreeswijk and Schoonhoven stood ten such numbered posts. With the exception of number one, the posts are still present. These are all protected under individual numbers.
Description
Natural stone, square post approximately 160 cm high. The top is provided with a moulded edge. On the river side (south side) of the post the number 10 is indicated in bas-relief.
