Inleiding
PEILSCHAALHUISJE gebouwd in 1896 in Traditioneel Ambachtelijke stijl, gelegen aan de Lekdijk buiten de bebouwde kom van Schoonhoven. Het pandje maakt deel uit van een groter geheel dat bestaat uit twee peilschaalhuisjes en 9 dijkpalen langs de Lekdijk in de gemeenten Schoonhoven en Lopik.
Omschrijving
Vanaf een rechthoekige plattegrond opgetrokken laag gebouwtje in rode baksteen. De kopse, noordelijke gevel is deels opgenomen in de dijk. Tegen de zuidelijke gevel zijn muurankers bevestigd. In het houten schilddak met roeven is een luik geplaatst om de metingen te kunnen verrichten. Het inwendige bevat een peilschaal

GAUGE HOUSE COTTAGE built in 1896 in Traditional Craft style, located at the Lekdijk outside the built-up area of Schoonhoven. The cottage forms part of a larger complex consisting of two gauge house cottages and 9 dike posts along the Lekdijk in the municipalities of Schoonhoven and Lopik.
Description
Constructed on a rectangular plan, a low building in red brick. The gable, northern facade is partially incorporated into the dike. Ornamental wall anchors are attached to the southern facade.
