Inleiding
Ondergronds gelegen restanten van de Wernerstoren uit de 13e eeuw met aangrenzende stadsmuur uit 1388 of kort nadien, en funderingen aan de Pastoorswal bij 2 te Roermond; de restanten liggen binnen de grens van het beschermde stadsgezicht Roermond.
Omschrijving
Stadsmuurfragment van mergel, met aan de stadzijde restanten van drie bakstenen poeren van twee steunbogen en aan de veldzijde een voorgeplaatst bakstenen fragment. Fundamenten van twee middeleeuwse bakstenen gebouwtjes die tegen de steunboven van het stadsmuurfragment zijn aangebouwd. Uit baksteen en mergel bestaande onderbouw van de Wernerstoren met in zuid-oostelijke richting muuraanzetten. Uit breuksteen t.w. kolenzandsteen en leien alsook in keien opgetrokken fragment van de stadsmuur,lopend in oost-westrichting, met aan de stadzijde restanten van vier of vijf poeren van steunbogen, deels uit mergel en aan de veldzijde restanten van veertien poeren van keien en mergel, zich bevindend tussen de Wernerstoren en de Grotekerkstraat en daterend uit de 13e eeuw.

Description
Town wall fragment of marl, with remains on the town side of three brick pillars of two buttress arches and on the field side a forward-placed brick fragment. Foundations of two medieval brick buildings built against the buttress arches of the town wall fragment. Substructure of the Wernerstoren consisting of brick and marl with murage in south-easterly direction. Fragment of town wall constructed of rubble stone namely coal sandstone and slate as well as in stones, running in east-west direction, with remains on the town side of four or five pillars of buttress arches, partly of marl and on the field side remains of fourteen pillars of stones and marl, located between the Wernerstoren and the Grotekerkstraat and dating from the 13th century.
