Inleiding.
Het woonhuis is gebouwd in Eclectische stijl in 1879 naar een ontwerp uit 1873 van architect C.P. van Genk, in opdracht van fabrikant A. Asselbergs. De forse erker is rond 1900 aangebouwd. Het pand vormt samen met nummer 16 een gespiegeld blok met gezamenlijke middenrisaliet.
Omschrijving.
Het tweelaagse woonhuis telt vier traveeën en is geplaatst onder een zadeldak parallel aan de straat met zwarte muldenpannen. Profiellijsten geleden de gepleisterde gevel. De getoogde T-vensters op de begane grond en de verdieping zijn voorzien van geprofileerde stucwerk lijsten met kuiven. Dit is ook aangebracht rond de paneeldeur met bovenlicht in de derde travee rechts. Hiernaast bevindt zich een veelhoekige erker met dezelfde vensters en een gedecoreerd ijzeren balkonhek. Het fries met kroonlijst is voorzien van voluutconsoles en velden. De stoep voor het huis wordt afgezet door de oorspronkelijke bewerkte plaatijzeren stoeppalen op hardstenen voet.
