AANLEG van het kerkhof St. Jan.
Omschrijving
Een centrale as, met klinkers bestraat, doorsnijdt de begraafplaats in de lengte. Twee dwarsassen kruissen deze centrale as zodat zes velden met graven zichtbaar zijn. Op twee-derde van de as ligt de Calvarieberg, een gebogen pad loopt daar aan de achterzijde omheen.
De graven zijn hirarchisch langs het assenstelsel geplaatst, vooraanstaanden werden aan de centrale as begraven, naar de randen van het kerkhof toe liggen minder belangrijke personen begraven.
De kindergraven zijn rond een sculptuur van een engel, genaamd: engelbewaarder, geconcentreerd.
Waardering
Het kerkhof als geheel is van algemeen belang. Het heeft cultuurhistorische waarde als uitdrukking van een geestelijke ontwikkeling. Het heeft vanwege ligging en aanleg ensemblewaarde, door de relatie tot de oude kern van Gemert en de reeds eerder beschermde kerk en het kasteel. De beeldengroepen zijn van kunsthistorisch belang vanwege hun vormgeving.

Description
A central axis, paved with clinker bricks, cuts through the burial ground lengthwise. Two transverse axes cross this central axis so that six grave sections are visible. At two-thirds along the axis lies the Calvary Hill, a curved path runs around its rear.
The graves are arranged hierarchically along the axis system, prominent persons were buried at the central axis, towards the edges of the churchyard less important persons are buried.
The children's graves are concentrated around a sculpture of an angel, called: guardian angel.
Valuation
The churchyard as a whole is of general interest. It has cultural-historical value as an expression of spiritual development. It has ensemble value due to its location and layout, through its relationship to the old centre of Gemert and the previously protected church and castle.
