Inleiding
ROOMS KATHOLIEK KERKHOF St Jan bij de kerk "St. Jans Onthoofding" in de kom van Gemert, bestaande uit de algemene aanleg, de engelbewaarder, de ommuring, en de Calvarieberg.
Het kerkhof is in 1903 aangelegd en ligt tussen de komweg en de kasteeltuin, tegenover de ingang van de kerk. Op het kerkhof bevindt zich een aantal graven, het beeld van een engel en een calvarieberg met beeldengroepen van J.A. Oor en Zonen uit Roermond. Van dit complex worden de algemene aanleg, de engelbewaarder, ommuring en Calvarieberg beschermd.
Omschrijving
Het kerkhof beslaat een rechthoekig stuk grond, naar het westen toe iets smaller toelopend, in het oosten met afgeschuinde hoeken. Het geheel is symmetrisch aangelegd.
De begroeing van de begraafplaats bestaat onder andere uit eiken, esdoorns en beuken.
Waardering
Het kerkhof als geheel is van algemeen belang. Het heeft cultuurhistorische waarde als uitdrukking van een geestelijke ontwikkeling. Het heeft vanwege ligging en aanleg ensemblewaarde, door de relatie tot de oude kern van Gemert en de reeds eerder beschermde kerk en het kasteel. ROMAN CATHOLIC CHURCHYARD St Jan by the church "St. John the Baptist" in the centre of Gemert, consisting of the general layout, the guardian angel, the walls, and the Calvary hill.
The churchyard was laid out in 1903 and lies between the village road and the castle garden, opposite the entrance of the church. In the churchyard there are a number of graves, a statue of an angel and a calvary hill with sculptural groups by J.A. Oor and Sons from Roermond. From this complex the general layout, the guardian angel, walls and Calvary hill are protected.
Description
The churchyard occupies a rectangular plot of ground, tapering somewhat to the west, with chamfered corners in the east. The whole is laid out symmetrically.
The planting of the burial ground consists of, among other things, oaks, maples and beeches.

The churchyard as a whole is of general importance. It has cultural-historical value as an expression of a spiritual development.
