Inleiding
Te Mill staat op korte afstand ten westen van de wal langs het Defensiekanaal, tussen de kazematten 36 en 34, aan de Schippersdijk, de traditore KAZEMAT B (90a) 35, daterende uit 1939-1940. De wal is ter plaatse aan de zijde van het kanaal gedeeltelijk geamoveerd.
Omschrijving.
De betonkazemat staat aan de westelijke zijde van de wal en deed dienst als flankerende betonkazemat, die in zuidelijke richting het stellingdeel achter het Defensiekanaal, ter hoogte van de kazematten 36-39 onder vuur kon nemen. De kazemat is gaaf bewaard gebleven en vertoont schade door mitrailleurvuur aan de oostelijke zijde. Aan de westelijke zijde zijn delen van de ontluchtingspijpen nog aanwezig.
Waardering.
De kazemat is van algemeen belang. Het object heeft cultuurhistorische waarde als bijzondere uitdrukking van een culturele en geografische ontwikkeling, namelijk de versterking en daaropvolgende verdediging van Nederland tijdens de Tweede Wereldoorlog en is als zodanig een belangrijk document van de militaire geschiedenis. Het is van architectuur- en bouwhistorisch belang wegens het bijzondere materiaalgebruik en de toepassing van moderne materialen en technieken, met name in de verwerking van gewapend beton. At Mill, a short distance west of the rampart along the Defensiekanaal, between casemates 36 and 34, on the Schippersdijk, stands the traitor CASEMATE B (90a) 35, dating from 1939-1940. The rampart has been partially removed at this location on the canal side.
