Inleiding.
Te Mill staat op de hoek van het kanaal bij de Bergseweg, tussen kazematten 43 en 41, de traditore KAZEMAT B (90a) 42,daterende uit 1939-1940. De wal is ter plaatse geamoveerd.
Omschrijving.
De betonkazemat staat aan de westelijke zijde van de voormalige wal en deed dienst als flankerende betonkazemat, die in zuidoostelijke richting het stellingdeel achter het Defensiekanaal, ter hoogte van de kazematten 43-45 onder vuur kon nemen. De kazemat is gaaf bewaard gebleven en vertoont schade door mitrailleurvuur aan de noordoostelijke zijde.
Waardering.
De kazemat is van algemeen belang. Het object heeft cultuurhistorische waarde als bijzondere uitdrukking van een culturele en geografische ontwikkeling, namelijk de versterking en daaropvolgende verdediging van Nederland tijdens de Tweede Wereldoorlog en is als zodanig een belangrijk document van de militaire geschiedenis. Het is van architectuur- en bouwhistorisch belang wegens het bijzondere materiaalgebruik en de toepassing van moderne materialen en technieken, met name in de verwerking van gewapend beton. Het heeft ensemblewaarden als essentieel onderdeel van een groter geheel, dat cultuurhistorisch van belang is en is van belang wegens de hoogwaardige kwaliteit van de bebouwing en de historisch-ruimtelijke relatie met wegen, wateren en bodemgesteldheid.
